Mum’s Scones (Biscuits)

Ingredients:

8 oz Plain Flour (All Purpose)

1 tsp Bicarb of Soda

2 tsp cream of Tartar (If you have sour milk, only use 1 tsp)

Pinch of Salt

2 oz Butter (Chilled)

5 oz (approx) of Milk and Water Mix

Method:

1.  Mix and sieve flour, bicarb, cream of tartar and salt.

2.  Rub in butter to resemble breadcrumbs.

3.  Add liquid until all combined and on the sticky side.

4.  Cut into squares, use a cutter, etc.

5.  Place a baking sheet and back for 10 minutes max. (Less for small ones) in oven at 400 degrees.

 

*You can add 4 oz strong cheese after #2, if you desire yummy cheese scones.

 

Yields 12 large/ 24 small
